[Sports Today Reporter Lim Si-ryeong] British singer Zayn Malik, who had previously announced health issues, has canceled his tour schedule.
According to the American media outlet Variety on the 1st (local time), former One Direction singer Zayn Malik has canceled all of his scheduled U.S. tour dates due to health problems.
Zayn Malik was hospitalized for an unspecified illness shortly after the release of his new album ‘Konnakol’ on April 17. He expressed his feelings directly through his SNS, saying, “I deeply appreciate the support for the album release and, above all, the love and prayers sent for my health. I am currently recovering at home and will return stronger than before.”
Later, announcing the tour cancellation, he added, “After reviewing the schedule for the next few months, I’ve decided to reduce the number of ‘Konnakol Tour’ performances. While I want to meet as many fans as possible in person, I ask for your understanding that I must prioritize my health at this time.”
As a result, all U.S. tour dates and some performances in UK cities including Dublin and Birmingham have been canceled. However, Variety reported, “Tickets for some performances in the UK and Mexico scheduled for the end of this month are still being sold on the official website, so it seems he will selectively take the stage according to the schedule.”
Zayn Malik has been active as a solo artist since leaving the global boy group One Direction in 2015. With the recent news of former One Direction member Liam Payne’s untimely death in an accident in Argentina in 2024, followed by Zayn’s health issues, global fans’ concerns are deepening.
Meanwhile, Zayn Malik collaborated with BLACKPINK’s Jisoo on the song ‘EYES CLOSED’ last December.
